Blogger Q&A

{via}

Hope everyone had a lovely Labor Day weekend! My plans changed a bit on Friday when I didn't end up getting out of work until after 5 and wasn't feeling up for an almost 6 hour drive down to Hilton Head- enter a relaxing weekend at home. While I am sad I missed the last beach weekend, I will do say it was nice to have the house to myself to catch up on reading, relaxing, laundry, and just about anything I wanted.

Last week I was nominated by Natalie over at East Coast Chic to participate in a fun Blogger Q&A. I haven't really posted much about my start to blogging so I thought this would be a fun change for today's post....

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging in 2011 after I gradated college before starting my internship in Charlotte, NC. I originally started the blog as a fun way to keep track of my internship and living in a new city. I never imagined having my blog as long as I have and am happy to say that while my blog isn't my main focus in life, it does bring joy and a creative outlet.

Has blogging created friendships for you?
Absolutely! Whether it be through emails or actual meet ups s, I have been able to connect with so many other wonderful bloggers. While in Richmond, I was able to not only meet but become good friends with Allie from Alexandra Bee Blog, whom is one of the nicest most sincere people I have ever met.

What is your number one tip for blogging?
Be yourself. Every blog is different and that's what makes reading different blogs and getting to know bloggers so much fun. My blog has changed so much from when I first started but I have always remained constant in myself and who portray to my readers.

What is your favorite kind of blog post to write and read?
I love when bloggers include posts about what their currently reading, favorite beauty item or song- just general information that allows you to get to know them better. Day in the life posts are always fun too as everyone's daily routines are different.

Is it hard to keep up with blogging and your regular every day life?
Yes Yes and yes. Blogging and keeping up with posting throughout the week while juggling a hectic work schedule is a lot and often times blogging is the first to take a back seat. Some of my favorite bloggers not only blog but are full time mommas and my hats are off to them. While I wish I posted everyday, that is not realistic for my schedule and things like work, getting together with friends, and working out are also priorities in my life.

How much time do you spend blogging?
This varies depending on the week and day. Sometimes I am able to polish off a few posts on a Sunday, while other times one post might take me hours. I typically blog either at night before bed or early in the morning before work.

What is your most popular blog post?
This is a tough one, back in 2013 I did a Total Body Cleanse review post that was pretty popular and while I can't say I would do the cleanse again I received many emails and comments wanting more information. My summer makeup routine post was pretty popular along with my August favorites

What is your favorite post on your blog?
I don't think I have a favorite post but I do enjoy posts that make some sort of announcement like my move to Raleigh

Feel free to play along on why you started blogging or what brought you to the blogging world as a reader!

Hope everyone has as lovely start to the week!
Yours truly,
Emily Ann
