Weekend + Off to San Fran

Happy Friday loves! By the time you are reading this, I am probably already in the air on my way the West Coast for a long weekend. I am so excited be reunited with one of my best friends and can't wait to spend the weekend catching up and exploring one of my favorite cities! Follow along on instagram and snapchat (emdepet.) Here's this week's links and finds...

// This London apartment.... ahamzingggg. I am smitten with the outdoor space.

// No plans for the weekend? Check out another fun Fall bucket list provided by Glitter Guide.

// I'm a sucker for anything navy and definitely for a good shift. This would be perfect for fall paired with a scarf and boots or dressed up with a fun necklace and heels.

// Trader Joe's is my go to for grocery shopping and I loved checking out these awesome menu plans on a budget.

// I am an overthinker by nature, in fact it might be my worst trait. This is a good reminder and probably something I should have tattooed on my forehead.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! I will be back next week with pictures and updates from the weekend!

Emily Ann

Please & Thank You

Please & Thank You

Happy Thursday friends! Today is technically my Friday and I could not be more excited. As of almost too early tomorrow morning I will be up in the air on my way to San Francisco for the weekend to see one of my best friends! The last time I was out there was last May and I can't wait to be back on the west coast! This time around I am traveling with one of my other good friends and I can't wait for all that we have planned. We will be exploring some of the best neighborhoods in SF, as well as taking some excursions to Sausalito and Napa. Feel free to follow along throughout the weekend on instagram on follow me on snapchat ( emdepet.)

For this week's Please & Thank You, I have a random assortment of goodies. I am loving this sweater from Asos, not only because it's striped but I LOVE the elbow patches. Next these booties... they are the perfect blend of slouch but still sophisticated looking. This perfume is new to be but it smells absolutely amazing, it's light but has a touch of amber and jasmine, two of my favorites. Looking for the perfect clutch for fall... I love the deep color of this crocodile print and the fold over detail. Lastly, I have been putting off getting an electronic reader for sometime, partly because I just didn't think I needed one and also because there's just something about holding a book and turning the pages that I enjoy. However, as an avid reader but no patience for the library, I am thinking I may have to give in soon. Here's where my question comes in- do I get a kindle or a nook? Suggestions are welcomed!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Fall + A Bucket List

I am 100% guilty of being one of those people that looks forward to Fall all year long and pretty much wishes the end of summer away. Once the air gets a bit crisp, football season has started, and it's officially pumpkin everything... I am one happy camper. This fall I am happy to be living in Raleigh in a new home and new roommates and now new puppy! I am looking forward to a few trips planned but mostly just enjoying my favorite season and crossing a few these off my to do list...

Happy Fall

Whats on your Fall Bucket List?

Weekend Recap: Football + A Puppy

Happy Monday friends! This weekend was one for the books and I would be lying if I said I wasn't struggling a little more then normal on a Monday. This past weekend I traveled home to Annapolis to spend time with my friends and family and cheer on the Pirates against Navy. Although we didn't win, it was still a great weekend...

I arrived in town early Friday morning and decided the best way to enjoy the day was a long walk through on of my favorite neighborhoods overlooking the water. Momma had plans for shopping and lunch but it was so beautiful outside, I opted for this alternative.

After the walk we headed to run a few errands to get the house ready for a few friends that were staying with us for the weekend. Once food and drinks were ready and we were showered, we broke up the selfie stick and took this gem.

3 generations. I am so fortunate for both of these ladies and love them so much. Friday night we made a yummy dinner at home and then headed out to downtown to explore and grab a few drinks

Saturday it was time to tailgate! We had a great set up of yummy food from crab melts to wings and I had so much fun catch up with friends. I even got lucky and got to see my best friend from home, Alison.

After the game we headed back downtown to grab dinner and hang out the rest of the night.
Sunday was a serious struggle but made a little easier by the arrival of this sweet girl.

Meet Piper. She is absolutely beautiful and my roommates new lab puppy. We are already so in love with her and have been spoiling her non stop.

That's about it for the weekend! Hope everyone has a great start to the week!

Emily Ann

Weekend

Thank goodness Friday is finally here. As I mentioned yesterday, I was happy to start my weekend a day early yesterday and am home for the weekend in Annapolis. It's a been over a month since I was last home and while that doesn't sound like a long time, I am so excited to be back and spend time with my family. This weekend the Pirates will be playing Navy and I have several friends coming in town to stay at my house and can't wait to see everyone and cheer on the Pirates at Navy stadium. Here's a few links and finds form this week...

// Anyone else terrible about making sure they drink enough water throughout the day? I am completely guilty of it but looking forward to trying a few things on this list. Staying hydrated is so important and I can always tell a difference in myself from my energy to my skin when I am drinking enough water.

// These look absolutely amazing, perfect sweet treat that won't leave me feeling guilty.

// This poncho with jeans, boots, and a long sleeve tshirt underneath... yes.

// I am constantly reminding myself of this. Don't stress what you have no control over... truth.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Emily Ann

Happy Thursday friends! Thank goodness today is my Friday and I will be off tomorrow and heading home for a long weekend back to Annapolis. I have been working since Saturday and have been totally thrown off this week due to working the past weekend. I can't wait to catch up on sleep this weekend and spend the weekend with friends and family cheering on the Pirates against Navy! Above are a few things that I am currently wanting, especially those boots... love love love. Hope everyone is having a great week!

Lately...

Here's a bit of what I have been up to amidst the traveling and crazy work weeks...

A fun visit to Logan's Garden Shop in Raleigh. If you live in the Raleigh area, I highly suggest you check it out, I could have spent hours there. They have everything from outdoor flowers, lovely fiddle leaf figs, home decor, produce and an amazing cafe that makes the perfect spot for lunch. I loved this display of blue and white planters.

A fun midweek concert with the roomies to see The Doobie Brothers and Gregg Allman. It is so easy to get in a slump during the week and even though I prefer to be in bed most nights by 9, this concert was a great way to break up the week and gave me something to look forward to.

A sick day from work called for extra hydrating and catching up on J.Crew's Fall catalog. I'll take one of everything.

Two recent purchases I am looking forward to wearing this fall.

Yours truly,
Emily Ann

Favorite Fall {Fashion} Pieces

As I mentioned on Friday, I spent most of this past weekend working both Saturday and Sunday and don't have much to report in terms of fun outings or pictures. We did have cooler temps which felt beyond amazing and left me super excited for Fall and to dress accordingly aka boots, blanket scarfs, sweaters... I can't wait. Today I'm sharing a few of my favorite inspiration looks for the upcoming chillier months...

This poncho... I die. This is similar and currently on sale.

One of my favorite pieces to break out once it gets cool enough is my green utility jacket. It's normally my go to when running errands over a white or striped tee with jeans and booties or flats. This one is perfect and less then $50!

I have yet to find a brand or style plaid shirt that fits me and is something I feel comfortable wearing. This year I am determined to change that and have heard good things about these and these. I would also love to add a utility vest like this one to my wardrobe.

My second favorite piece to break out for the cooler temps is my leather leggings. I have had them for 2 years now and I still think they are one of my favorite buys yet. I normally dress mine up with an oversized sweater or tunic and heels. If you are in the market for a new pair, I have heard rave reviews about these

It definitely wouldn't be fall without breaking out the blanket scarfs. I currently have the print above but also have been eyeing this one

And just for good measure, here's a few other looks I am loving for Fall!

Hope everyone has a great start to the week!

Yours truly,
Emily Ann

Weekend

{via}

Happy Weekend loves! Hope everyone has had a wonderful week so far and is looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Unfortunately I am working both Saturday and Sunday but happy to have today off to recharge and get a few checked off my to do list. We are expecting fall like temperatures here this weekend and I am so excited to break out some of my favorite fall essentials. Here's this week's list of finds and links...

// I think everyone can remember exactly where they were on 9/11 when the planes struck the twin towers. I distinctively remember sitting in my classroom as our teacher had told us what happened and not fully understanding what it meant or what was to come. I had chills looking at the pictures and it is definitely a day I will never forget.

// Pizza is my all time favorite food, hands down and has been since I was a kid. I could eat it cold, hot, cheese or veggie, you name it and I love it. Unfortunately pizza is not on the top 5 healthiest food list nor will it ever be. Enter this article on how to step up your pizza game and not feel so guilty.

// Looking for a few DIYs to try around the house, I am loving all of these ideas, especially the side table!

// Every once in awhile I get a craving to change up my hair, currently I am loving this deep brown color and really thinking of biting the bullet.

// Life lately has been all over the place from work to my personal life, it's hard not to feel a bit lost in translation at times. Earlier this week I stumbled upon this quote and thought it was absolutely spot on and perfect.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Please & Thank You

Please & Thank YouI'll take one of everything above! I am convinced you can never own to many stripe items of clothing and I am loving this shift, perfect to throw on with boots and scarf for Fall. Unfortunately the shoes are sold out but these are almost identical and cost way less. As for accessories, I love the marble detailing on this ring and the classic look of this leather watch. Decor wise, this print at less then $50 is a no brainer, palm love and a ginger jar... sold.

Blogger Q&A

{via}

Hope everyone had a lovely Labor Day weekend! My plans changed a bit on Friday when I didn't end up getting out of work until after 5 and wasn't feeling up for an almost 6 hour drive down to Hilton Head- enter a relaxing weekend at home. While I am sad I missed the last beach weekend, I will do say it was nice to have the house to myself to catch up on reading, relaxing, laundry, and just about anything I wanted.

Last week I was nominated by Natalie over at East Coast Chic to participate in a fun Blogger Q&A. I haven't really posted much about my start to blogging so I thought this would be a fun change for today's post....

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging in 2011 after I gradated college before starting my internship in Charlotte, NC. I originally started the blog as a fun way to keep track of my internship and living in a new city. I never imagined having my blog as long as I have and am happy to say that while my blog isn't my main focus in life, it does bring joy and a creative outlet.

Has blogging created friendships for you?
Absolutely! Whether it be through emails or actual meet ups s, I have been able to connect with so many other wonderful bloggers. While in Richmond, I was able to not only meet but become good friends with Allie from Alexandra Bee Blog, whom is one of the nicest most sincere people I have ever met.

What is your number one tip for blogging?
Be yourself. Every blog is different and that's what makes reading different blogs and getting to know bloggers so much fun. My blog has changed so much from when I first started but I have always remained constant in myself and who portray to my readers.

What is your favorite kind of blog post to write and read?
I love when bloggers include posts about what their currently reading, favorite beauty item or song- just general information that allows you to get to know them better. Day in the life posts are always fun too as everyone's daily routines are different.

Is it hard to keep up with blogging and your regular every day life?
Yes Yes and yes. Blogging and keeping up with posting throughout the week while juggling a hectic work schedule is a lot and often times blogging is the first to take a back seat. Some of my favorite bloggers not only blog but are full time mommas and my hats are off to them. While I wish I posted everyday, that is not realistic for my schedule and things like work, getting together with friends, and working out are also priorities in my life.

How much time do you spend blogging?
This varies depending on the week and day. Sometimes I am able to polish off a few posts on a Sunday, while other times one post might take me hours. I typically blog either at night before bed or early in the morning before work.

What is your most popular blog post?
This is a tough one, back in 2013 I did a Total Body Cleanse review post that was pretty popular and while I can't say I would do the cleanse again I received many emails and comments wanting more information. My summer makeup routine post was pretty popular along with my August favorites

What is your favorite post on your blog?
I don't think I have a favorite post but I do enjoy posts that make some sort of announcement like my move to Raleigh

Feel free to play along on why you started blogging or what brought you to the blogging world as a reader!

Hope everyone has as lovely start to the week!
Yours truly,
Emily Ann

Weekend

TGIF! Holy cow, I thought I would never make it to Friday. This weekend I am making a spontaneous trip down to Hilton Head for a girls weekend and can't wait to relax and enjoy the last of summer. I also can't wait for the start of college Football and to cheer on the Pirates tomorrow from the comfort of a beach chair with a drink my hand. Here's this weeks links and finds...

// My only assignment for our weekend trip is to bring and make margaritas...done and done. I am thinking of trying out this recipe

// I wear flats almost everyday to work, with being on my feet pretty much all day, anything else would be too uncomfortable. Lately I have been majorly wanting a shoe upgrade and highly considering these beauties

// A list of all the Labor Day sales, where will you be shopping?

// I recently received this beauty kit from a friend and I am officially obsessed.

// My thoughts entering the weekend.

Hope everyone has a lovely Labor Day weekend!

J.Crew Factory Sale

While I realize posting twice in one day is not normally my style, I couldn't not share the amazing sale currently going on at J.Crew Factory. Everything is currently 50% off and with fall approaching, this is a perfect time to snag some great pieces for way less then the normal price. Here's a few things that I have my eye on...

Happy Shopping!

August Favorites

Well y'all September is officially here and I could not be more excited. While I love summer and the time spent outdoors and at the beach, this summer was absolutely crazy and left my craving less travel a bit more down time. September will be a busy month including football games, a trip home to Maryland, and then off to San Francisco to see one of my best friends but all are very exciting and I can't wait.

Today's post includes a few of my favorite things from this past month...

//One//
I received this product in last month's Ipsy bag and have been absolutely loving it. I ran out a few weeks ago and can already tell a difference in my skin from not using it every day. I added this serum to both my morning and night routine and was amazing by how clear and fresh my skin appeared just a few days after using it.

//Two//

Trader Joe's Cold Brew Coffee
Y'all... this is the holy grail of cold brew coffee. The past few weeks I have gotten into a terrible Starbucks habit, I mean 3-4 times a week. While I do love Starbucks, it can get a bit pricey; enter this amazing alternative. I am a coffee lover, I love the taste, the caffeine, pretty much everything about it, but I especially like my coffee strong. The best part of this coffee is that you only need a small amount and can add almond milk or your choice of creamer. I have been doing equal part coffee and plain almond milk every morning and haven't missed my Starbucks iced coffee once!

//Three//

By no means do I need another scarf, in fact with my collection I probably don't need to buy another scarf for life and I would be just fine. With that being said, I absolutely love scarves- including this beauty currently on sale at Nordstrom.

//Four//
Trader Joe's Sesame Sticks
Now that I am back to making salads for lunch, these have been adding the perfect amount of crunch. While I can't say they are entirely nutritious, they are so yummy and make a good snack as well.

//Five//
Another favorite from my Ipsy subscription is this bronzer. It has the tiniest amount of shimmer but I swear it lasts all day and it super easy to apply.

What are some of your favorites from August?

Yours truly,
Emily Ann
