Weekend Report + Monday Words

Happy Monday friends! I can't believe today is the last day of August and tomorrow is officially the start of September. Once September rolls around, it always seems as though summer is over and fall is beginning, despite what the temps might be.

This past weekend was pretty low key and included grabbing a quick dinner out on Friday before crashing in bed by 9:30... raging Friday night. Saturday I was up semi early and out the door to the gym. It was my first workout since being sick last week and I was eager to get in a good workout. The rest of Saturday was spent with a good friend visiting for the day. We grabbed a yummy lunch and then relaxed in the backyard just chatting and talking about her recent engagement and upcoming wedding. Saturday night we grabbed a late dinner and then headed out to a few spots for a fun night out.

Sunday I woke up feeling surprisingly well and decided to head in to work for a bit to catch up on a few things from the previous week and attempt to get ahead for this week.

The weekend ended by grabbing a dinner out with my roommates but not just any dinner... my first cheeseburger in nearly 4 years!

It's no surprise around here that I have been a vegetarian for about 4 years now and while I am totally comfortable with being a vegetarian, this girl is ready to start eating meat again. I can't really say what brought me to this decision other then craving cheeseburgers but I am excited to slowly reintroduce a few things into my diet. I am starting simple and will just be eating ground turkey, whether is be in tacos, stir fry, or turkey burgers.

Now lets see how many cups of coffee are needed to get through this dreary rainy Monday! Here's some inspiration for the week as well..

Hope everyone has a great week!

Emily Ann

Weekend

Happy Friday loves! I am happy to say that after spending 2 days at home and the other two semi still sick, I am finally starting to feel like a real person again. I am so thankful the weekend is here and have no plans but to rest and get fully recovered before a busy week next week. I have a friend coming to town Saturday and I am looking forward to lounging by the pool, grabbing a yummy dinner, and catching up on her recent engagement! Here's a few finds from this week...

/ I love make ahead dishes like this one that ca be eaten all throughout the week.

/ This watch needs to be mine.

/ I had not heard about this book until this week but can't wait to check it out.

/ As if I couldn't love her more, a peak inside Reese Witherspoon's home.

/ Guilty.

Yours truly,
Emily Ann

Currently...

Today's post includes a bit of what I have been up to as of lately...

Smelling: Being that I have been sick, I can't smell much of anything. However my roommate gifted me one of these candles a few weeks ago for my birthday and I quickly became obsessed. They are a bargain and mine lasted way longer then I anticipated.

Making: A serious budget. This girl got a bit out of control over the summer and now with a car payment and lots of travel plans coming up, a budget is 100% necessary. If anyone has any plans, websites, or helpful tricks send them this way!

Wearing: Forever 21 has been on point with their rompers lately. I am loving this black number as a good transition to fall, perfect with booties or open toe wedges.

Cooking: Embarrassingly enough, I have hardly been doing any cooking. Breakfast has included avocado toast and hardboiled egg. Lunch has mostly been cottage cheese with melon and a Lara bar. Dinners are all over the place but mostly included corn on the cob, salmon, and roasted broccoli.

Watching: Recently I started watching One Tree Hill on Netflix- having never watch it before I am officially hooked. I also just read this list of shows to come out this season and can't wait to check out The Catch.

Wanting: To get better, I am no good at being sick and tend to get a bit stir crazy even when I'm not feeling up to doing much.

Loving: The fact that I have 0 plans this weekend. after two weekend out of town and now sick this week, I can't wait for a low key weekend.

Wishing: I could rewind summer and start over. Don't get me wrong, I am 100% excited for fall but there's still a part of me that will miss beach days, the sun staying out later, and the overall relaxing feeling of summer.

Reading: A few weeks ago I was babysitting and read this story before bedtime. While this may be the first time I've posted about a children's story, I couldn't help not post about this story. If you have children or are needing a gift for a little ones birthday, I highly suggest checking out this read.

What are a few of your "currentlys"?

Please & Thank You

Currently

Happy Tuesday friends. Above are the few things I have had my eye on as of lately. Sounds terrible but I am definitely one of those people eagerly awaiting fall for all the obvious reasons- cooler temps, boots, pumpkin everything, and college football.

Anyone else looking forward to fall?

Unfortunately today I am spending the day on the couch sick as a dog but am hoping to get in some posting during my downtime.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Wedding Weekend Recap

I am finally getting around to posting about the wedding I was in a few weeks ago for my cousin Jackie and her now husband Matt! It was such an amazing weekend and I am so happy I was able to be a part of such a special time.

The weekend started a bit early and I got to spend a day in my hometown before heading up for the rehearsal dinner. I miss Annapolis so much and it was so nice to enjoy the beautiful weather walking around downtown.

I also squeezed in a quick run in one of my favorite Annapolis neighborhoods that overlooks both the Naval Academy and the Bay Bridge.

My roommate was nice enough to be my tag along for the wedding and we had such a great time. The rehearsal dinner was held at a small italian BYOB in Pennslyvania and everything from the appetizers to dessert and company was amazing.

Clearly a coffee run was necessary the next morning and of course there was a special shout out to the bride!

Here are a few pictures I managed to snag at the reception held at Talamore Country Club...

Overall it was an amazing weekend, one for the books!

Emily Ann

Weekend

Once again I apologize for the silence around here! I am promising to get better about posting next week but this summer seems to have been crazy! Last weekend was my cousin, Jackie's wedding and while I can't even put into words how much fun the entire weekend was, I have been playing a serious game of catch up all week! This week has called for late days at work with lots of meetings and getting caught back up to speed. As for this weekend, I am off to the coast, Wrightsville to be exact for a little R&R in the sun with some friends!

Here's this week's round up of links...

/ I am completely guilty of having a clutter filled dresser and think I may need to pick up on some of these tips.

/ Loving this bar cart.

/ With very little ingredients, this salad looks too easy and yummy to not try.

/ Target can do no wrong, loving this tote

/ Truth

Hope everyone has lovely weekend!

Emily Ann

Weekend

Happy Friday friends! The weekend officially started for me on Wednesday afternoon to make it up to PA for my cousin Jackie's wedding. I am so excited this weekend is finally here and can't wait to spend the weekend celebrating such an amazing couple. I will be sure to include a recap next week but until then here's this weeks finds...

/ This apartment... swooning.

/ As someone who has made a vow to try the "bootie" trend this fall, I think I may have found the perfect ones.

/ Two of my favorite foods combined; brussels sprouts AND pizza, this is a must try.

/ Confession: Y'all my obsession with Joanna and Chip Gaines from Fixer Upper is no joke. I recently just discovered their website and blog and it's safe to say my obsession continues.

/ Truth

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Emily Ann

Tuesday Tastes- Healthy Blueberry Muffins

It's been awhile since I posted a recipe on the 'ol blog so I figured today I would share a new recipe I tried out a few weeks ago- Flourless Blueberry Oat Muffins.

With a few almost bad bananas I decided to do something with them and took to the internet for a muffin recipe that wasn't filled with sugar, butter, or anything else that would make me feel guilty for eating them. Enter Pamper and Pearls recipe for Blueberry & Banana Oatmeal Muffins.

I apologize for the terrible picture but assure you that the muffins are taste far better then my picture leads on.

Ingredients:
2 Mashed overripe bananas
1 Cup of almond milk
2 Eggs
1 Tsp vanilla
1 Tsp of baking powder
3 Cups of oats
1/2 Cup of blueberries ( I used full cup)
1/2 Cup of almond butter

Combine all ingredients, leaving the blueberries till the end and fold to incorporate. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes. I stored mine in the fridge and popped one in the microwave for a few seconds each morning before heading out the door.

Thanks to Pampers and Pearls for the yummy and easy breakfast recipe!

Yours truly,
Emily Ann

Boston Bachelorette Recap

Happy Monday friends! I am officially getting back to posting and excited to start the week off with a recap from my weekend in Boston celebrating my cousin Jackie and her bachelorette weekend. It's a bit picture heavy but we had such a great time and got to see so much in such a short time, I couldn't help but snap pictures everywhere. I hadn't been to Boston since I was a kid so it was so awesome to explore the city and take in a new city, especially with such a great group of girls.

My flight arrived in Boston super early on Friday morning and while I was a bit tired from a 5am wake-up,  I was excited to meet two of the other girls for early coffee and breakfast + exploring. After a few hours of walking around and doing a bit of shopping, the whole group had arrived and we started the weekend off by grabbing happy hour.

My cousin Jill just had a baby 6 weeks before and I was so excited to meet the new little man and in awe of how amazing Jill looked!

Jill and sweet baby James were such troopers as we talked around the city stopping here and there grabbing drinks and snacks.

After happy hour we headed back to the hotel room to settle in and get ready for our first night out in Boston. We ordered pizza to our hotel rooms, popped champagne and played a few bachelorette games.

Next it was off to Jacque's Cabaret. Having never been to a drag show I had no idea what to expect but boy was it fun. The dancers and performers (I guess that's what they would go by?) were absolutely amazing and so entertaining. If you ever happen to find yourself in Boston, I would definitely add this to the list if you are going with friends.

Following Jacque's- the only logical transportation included a party bus that included one heck of a Taylor Swift jam session.

The next morning we were up surprisingly early and off to Boot Camp at one of the local parks. We were all feeling less then stellar but I am so happy we got in the workout and that I was able to try something out of my comfort zone.

Next we headed back to the hotel for showers and a quick breakfast before checking out Harpoon Brewery. We were signed up for a 12:30 tour and were able to grab a quick beer before our tour. I've been on a few brewery tours but this was by far my favorite. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable about the beer itself but the best part is our tour also came with a tasting session in which we got to try over 10 beers on tap.

Just a short walk from Harpoon Brewery was our lunch spot- Yankee Lobster Eatery. Having been Diner, Drive- ins, and Dives we knew it would be good and worth the 30 min wait in line.

After a yummy and filling lunch, we headed back to the hotel for a little down time. Not getting home the night before until after 2am + boot camp and brewery tour really took it out of us and a nap was just what the doctor ordered.

After resting and recovering we ventured out for dinner and another night out on the town.

Me and the lovely bride to be! Yes, princess crowns were necessary.

Overall it was such a fun weekend and I am so glad I was able to be apart of such a special weekend for Jackie. I can't believe her wedding week is finally here, just a few more days until I am off to PA for  the big day.

Yours truly,
Emily Ann
