Thoughts of Thursday

This week I have a few thoughts on my mind that I thought I would share today....

- I'm not complaining about gorgeous weather or anything... BUT I would love to have a bit more "fall" like weather. Today I actually turned on the A.C in my car!

- If I eat one more Wasabi and Soy Sauce flavored almond... I'm going to turn into one

- I did not cook a single meal at home this week, other then an omelet... fail

- I had a glass of wine every night this week... fail or winning I'll let you decide

- I am officially done with hearing about the election, anyone else feeling completely annoyed of it?

- I did not make it to the gym once this week. Normally this would absolutely disgust me but this past week I worked an insane amount of hours that I'm pretty sure I will forgive myself

- I am off Friday and CANT wait to head out for a run early in the morning

- THANK goodness this Friday is pay day... someone should really warn you that the year after you graduate and are working at your first job, you will be poorer then you were in college

- I could not be more excited to head to D.C Friday for a reunion with my pledge sisters, watch out D.C!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

A Trip To The Mountains For Apple Picking

As if my weekend could have gotten any better with taking a trip to my favorite city, Charlotte, I also squeezed in a trip to Charlottesville for some apple picking! As soon as I got back into Richmond, I met my friend who we will refer to as G for the time being, and was immediately back in the car on the way to Carters Mountain!

Never having been to Charlottesville or gone apple picking, I was EXTREMELY excited to get there and get started. It was so exciting driving up the mountain and getting to see the rows of apples and vineyards! We were definitely not the only ones who thought it would be a great day for apple picking because it was absolutely packed!
Once we parked and got our bags to fill with apples, it was off to trees..,

Once our bags were full with apples we hung out a bit more before racing home to complete a masterpiece...

Overall it was a lovely afternoon spent outside with great company and even ended with homemade apple pie... doesn't get much better! Now what to do with the other 30 apples I brought home...

A Weekend Spent In My Favorite City

This past weekend I escaped to one of my favorite cities for combination of both work and leisure that left me hating waking up this morning!

Friday another coworker and I took the day off work so we could travel down to Charlotte to attend a Child Life conference at Levine Children's Hospital. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in South Park and was greeted at the door with champagne and pumpkin cannolis... talk about a great start to the weekend!
Our hotel was absolutely amazing, I included a couple pictures because I could not get over how nice it was! It had the most delicious fall/cinnamon smell throughout the lobby and I couldn't help myself from asking what candle they were using- Bath and Body Winter Nights... obviously this will soon make an appearance in my apartment.

Saturday I was off to my conference and was SO excited to actually see people I knew! I was able to catch up with a few girls I graduated with and also some that I interned with. Levine Children's Hospital is also absolutely amazing, as is their Child Life Department!

Once the conference was over I headed over to South Park to do a bit of shopping... I obviously couldn't be that close and not go! I was able to use a bit of self of control and only left with a few new purchases from Sephora...

While I was at the store I mentioned to one of the makeup consultants I was looking for a new foundation. She immediately ushered me over to the Tarte section and could not stop raving about this the foundation and the concealer. So far I am absolutely obsessed and could not be happier with both products!

Also while I was at Sephora I decided to check out a moisturizer I have heard nothing but rave reviews about...
I decided to only get a sample to try it out because it is not cheap but would love to hear opinions on this product or a good moisturizer for fall/winter that wont leave my face shiny!

As for Sunday... it was off to the mountains to go apple picking! More on this tomorrow!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Friday Five

Happy Friday Y'all! So happy Friday has finally made its way here because this week kicked my butt! After traveling to Greenville last weekend and not starting my Monday off on the best food, the whole week just seemed to drag by. However Friday is here and I have big plans for the weekend... Here is a just a few things that helped the week go by...

This weekend I am heading back to the city where I first started my little blog... Charlotte! I am way too excited to get back down there and see the beautiful city as well as catch up with friends while I am in town!

Reading my favorite magazine while working out.

Homemade yummy dinners - Salmon, sauteed spinach, and quinoa

I picked this book up last week and have not been able to put it down since! I also took this to the gym with me one day and was tripping over myself working out while I was reading it.

Getting this sweet email from my best friend was the BEST midweek slump treat. She is the best and I am counting down the days until I see her at Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a fabulous week!

Yours truly,
Em

Where Do I Even Begin...

Happy Saturday loves! I bet you are super surprised to be seeing Eloquently Emily pop up in your feed, but after over 2 months of not blogging... enough was enough. I have been putting off this post for quite some time because I no idea of where I should even begin! My life in the last 2 two months has taken some pretty big changes and I would be lying if I said all of them were rainbow and smiles. However the fog and storms have cleared and I am starting to feel like I am back to my old self and actually having time for a life.

Lets take a look and see what changes have been happening since my last post:

- I moved! Yes you are reading that right... since my last post I have moved into cozy and cute one bedroom  in a lovely part of Richmond and could not be happier at my new home. I have lots of pinterest projects to update on!

- Work was crazy before my lack of posting but things have been INSANE lately! Even though I have only been employed for 6 months (CRAZY that it has already been 6 months) I have taken on a ton of responsibility already. I absolutely love my job and love all the new tasks I have taken on but it has left little time to have a life outside of work.

- I have friends! While I have always had my friends from college and at home, when I moved to a new city I was extremely nervous about becoming a hermit and not putting myself out there to meet people and make friends. However over the past few months I have started making some great friendships that I am very excited about!

Being that so much has changed since the last time I posted, I will have LOTS and lots to talk about and give updates on over the next few days! Be sure to stay tuned!

As for today, this weekend is the first weekend that I am off from work AND have no plans! I have already hit the farmers market and have lots of plans for the rest of the day, including a bit of R&R.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and so excited to get back on my blogging!
