Fall Bucket List

Fall Bucket List

Now that we are half way through September and just a week away from the first day of Fall, it finally feels appropriate to break into all things fall related. I have yet to have anything pumpkin related or even break out any fall candles. Today I thought it would be fun to share a bucket list of activities I am hoping to do this fall...

1. Last year I kept waiting on our landlord to powerwash our house before decorating for fall and wouldn't you know he didn't get around to it until right before Christmas. This year I plan pick up a few mums and pumpkins for the front steps and hoping to maybe even make a fall wreath.

2. A few years ago I hosted a pumpkin carving party with a few girlfriends and I am thinking I need to bring it back this year. Everyone bought their own pumpkin, there was lots of wine and we even watched Hocus Pocus.

3. Another thing I didn't get around to doing last year was baking an apple pie. I've made several in the past and once you get the hang of it its not as intimidating as one might think.

4. There is nothing like being in the mountains when the leaves have just started to change and there's a crisp in the air. I am hopefully going to Asheville the end of this month and can't wait to get in a hike and drive along the Blue Ridge.

5. Today is the first day I am using my crock pot for the start of fall recipes and I am so excited. I love being able to smell dinner as I am walking in the door, not to mention it simplifies dinner planning so much. Tonight I am making White bean Turkey Chili.

6. Last year we threw Friendsgiving for the first time and had so much fun. We provided the turkey and everyone brought a side, dessert, or a bottle of wine and it turned out perfect.

7. Because what else screams fall but going to pick apples, drink apple cider, and if your lucky get apple donuts.

8. This is our first fall living in our new house and we have yet to make use of the fire pit in our backyard. I'm thinking a fire pit party is a must with pumpkin beer, chili, and s'mores.

9. Lucky for me I've already been to one ECU game so far this season but hopefully I will be able to get in a few more before the end of the season.

10. This one is a bit random but I think I am finally read to go back to being a solid brunette. Over the summer I added a lot of blonde to my hair and while I loved that I pushed myself outside of my comfort zone, I am ready for my brown locks back.

What are some of your plans for the fall?

Yours truly,
Emily Ann

Wishlist Wednesday

Wishlist Wednesday

Happy Wednesday friends!

Today I am sharing a few things that have caught my eye over the past few weeks. I recently went to my local Gap and tried on these joggers and immediately wanted them for more casual days at work. They were so comfy and would also be perfect to throw on for weekend errand running. Next, I am all about these peep toe booties, I think they would be super cute with white jeans transitioning into fall or even leather leggings when the temps get cooler. If anyone is looking for a new foundation, this needs to be your next go to, it is seriously amazing. I received a sample a few weeks ago and I kid you not, it lasted all day, even through my gym session after work. I am also loving this cuff set by Treasure & Bond, perfect for everyday wear. Last but not least, this card pouch. I love being able to throw all my cards and some cash in one of these and stick in a clutch so that everything is kept together and neat.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Emily Ann

N Sale Picks

N Sale Picks
The Big Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends in just a few days so I thought I would share my picks above. A lot of items have sold out but I hope they will restock a few things over the next few days. I have heard nothing but amazing reviews about the High waisted Zella leggings, anyone tried them? Also a good time to stock up on Voluspa candles while they are on sale, I always give them as gifts or love having them around the home. I also am in major need of some new basic tees and thought I would give these Lush ones a try, they look so comfy and that they could be dressed up or down.

I am officially on my way to the Keys today but hope everyone has a great rest of their week!
Yours truly.

Q & A Time

Blogger Q &A's are my favorite. I love getting to a know bloggers past what you see on your computer/ipad/phone. I've made a ton of blog friends since starting the blogging journey and most have started from a comment to what turned into an email thread to what turned it to feeling like I know some of these girls personally. A few weeks ago I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Cupcake and Cashmere and saw this fun Q&A and decided to play along and share.

Thoughts for Thursday: A "Q & A"

Hope everyone is having a good week so far!

Valentines Gift Guide: For Her

Valentines Gift Guide: For Her

Valentine's Day is still 2 weeks away but it never hurt to plan ahead, especially when it comes to gift giving. Here's a list of a few things I wouldn't mind receiving this year...

// I am pretty much a sucker for any Voluspa candle and not only did I like scent of this one but also the pretty pink color.

// I have yet to jump on the S'well bandwagon but thinking I may have to give in. I love this simple gold version.

// Starbucks giftcard... no explanation necessary.

// This is the ultimate comfy bra and panty. If you have yet to try this brand, do so, you will not regret it!

// I love the delicate look of these pearl earings, perfect to dress up an outfit or to wear for night out.

// One can never have too many sleep shorts

// These Karen Walker sunnies have been floating around the blog world for quiet some time. While they are pretty expensive, I have heard rave reviews and think they are stunning.

// One of my all time favorite scents and a good go to for any occasion.

Whats on your Valentines wish list?

Emily Ann

Thanksgiving Looks

Thanksgiving week is officially here and I am so excited to get home and spend some time with my family. Today I am sharing 2 Thanksgiving looks, one that is a tad dressier and another that is more relaxed. I am all about comfort on Thanksgiving and will be wearing something most resembling the second option.

Skin Care Routine

Skin Care Routine

I am one of those people that could easily be described as a product junky. I have baskets upon baskets in bathroom closet of so many different products, both and beauty. Some of them I use seasonally and unfortunately some of them I have never used or only used once and decided to store it for another time. I also tend to do a fair amount of mixing between what I buy from department stores and drug stores. Some items I like to save my money on while others I don't mind paying a bit more for because I know it works and if something works why change it.

As of lately the above products have been my go to and have been working quite well. Shower wise, I am pretty easy going and normally stick to drug store shampoo and conditioner. I am the first one to admit I am pretty terrible when it comes to my hair and I honestly think its been 5+ months since my last hair cut. Body wash is also something I don't spend too much on but normally stick to Dove or Neautrogena. I am a big lotion person as I tend to have dry skin, especially in the winter and this lotion has been my favorite. It has a slight fragrance but tends to fade pretty quickly but does keep my skin moisturized throughout the day. I received a sample of this cleansing oil and while I was hesitant at first to use it, I am fully addicted now. It takes off all my makeup and doesn't leave my skin feeling stripped or dry. If I am having a breakout or my skin needs a bit more attention then normal, I use one of these two masks ( 1, 2), both are amazing and I have been using them for a good bit now. As for face lotion, I tend to skip between department store and drug store brands frequently but always seem love this simple lotion from Aveeno.

What are some of your favorite skin care products?

Yours truly,
Emily Ann

Please & Thank You

Please & Thank You

I'll take one of everything above please and thank you. Fall is officially here and it was so chilly in the beginning of the week we made the jump to turn on the heat. I am not complaining one bit though, I have loved the excuse to break out some of my favorite sweaters, boots, and scarves. I love this multi-color poncho and think it would be great with along white sleeve t, jeans, and boots. It would also go great with this bag and this watch I have been eyeing for too long now. Over the past few months I've been searching for a new fragrance and while I've used this one before, it's always been a favorite and has such a classic smell. This candle also smells amazing and it one of my favorites.

Hope everyone is having a great week, only 1 more day until Friday!

Emily Ann

Please & Thank You

Please & Thank You

 Thank goodness we have made it half way through the week already because it has been a long one. This week's please & thank yous includes a few gems, including beautiful leather bucket bag. Pair this top with some jeans and these booties and you have a perfect easy weekend outfit. I also have been wanting a signet ring for quite some time now, and this one for less then $100 would be amazing. Unfortunately my skin is already noticing the weather change and has been requiring a bit more love then normal. I love this brand and am looking to try out their exfoliate kit as well as their moisturizer and night cream. And because who doesn't love a yummy smelling candle?

Emily Ann

Please & Thank You

Please & Thank You

Happy Thursday friends! Today is technically my Friday and I could not be more excited. As of almost too early tomorrow morning I will be up in the air on my way to San Francisco for the weekend to see one of my best friends! The last time I was out there was last May and I can't wait to be back on the west coast! This time around I am traveling with one of my other good friends and I can't wait for all that we have planned. We will be exploring some of the best neighborhoods in SF, as well as taking some excursions to Sausalito and Napa. Feel free to follow along throughout the weekend on instagram on follow me on snapchat ( emdepet.)

For this week's Please & Thank You, I have a random assortment of goodies. I am loving this sweater from Asos, not only because it's striped but I LOVE the elbow patches. Next these booties... they are the perfect blend of slouch but still sophisticated looking. This perfume is new to be but it smells absolutely amazing, it's light but has a touch of amber and jasmine, two of my favorites. Looking for the perfect clutch for fall... I love the deep color of this crocodile print and the fold over detail. Lastly, I have been putting off getting an electronic reader for sometime, partly because I just didn't think I needed one and also because there's just something about holding a book and turning the pages that I enjoy. However, as an avid reader but no patience for the library, I am thinking I may have to give in soon. Here's where my question comes in- do I get a kindle or a nook? Suggestions are welcomed!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Fall + A Bucket List

I am 100% guilty of being one of those people that looks forward to Fall all year long and pretty much wishes the end of summer away. Once the air gets a bit crisp, football season has started, and it's officially pumpkin everything... I am one happy camper. This fall I am happy to be living in Raleigh in a new home and new roommates and now new puppy! I am looking forward to a few trips planned but mostly just enjoying my favorite season and crossing a few these off my to do list...

Happy Fall

Please & Thank You

Happy Thursday friends! Thank goodness today is my Friday and I will be off tomorrow and heading home for a long weekend back to Annapolis. I have been working since Saturday and have been totally thrown off this week due to working the past weekend. I can't wait to catch up on sleep this weekend and spend the weekend with friends and family cheering on the Pirates against Navy! Above are a few things that I am currently wanting, especially those boots... love love love. Hope everyone is having a great week!

Please & Thank You

Please & Thank YouI'll take one of everything above! I am convinced you can never own to many stripe items of clothing and I am loving this shift, perfect to throw on with boots and scarf for Fall. Unfortunately the shoes are sold out but these are almost identical and cost way less. As for accessories, I love the marble detailing on this ring and the classic look of this leather watch. Decor wise, this print at less then $50 is a no brainer, palm love and a ginger jar... sold.

Emily Ann

Please & Thank You

Currently

Happy Tuesday friends. Above are the few things I have had my eye on as of lately. Sounds terrible but I am definitely one of those people eagerly awaiting fall for all the obvious reasons- cooler temps, boots, pumpkin everything, and college football.

Anyone else looking forward to fall?

Unfortunately today I am spending the day on the couch sick as a dog but am hoping to get in some posting during my downtime.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

How I Unwind

How I Unwind

Everyone's has different ways to unwind and relax and today I thought I would share my normal go tos. Their not exactly in any particular order but all of these seem to help when I am feeling a bit overwhelmed or just needing some "me" time.

1. Reading- Ever since I was a kid I have been a huge reader. To me there is nothing better then crawling into bed at night and reading a good book. Not to mention I swear I fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer as opposed to getting on my laptop or watching a show.

2. Netflix- Sometimes working in a hospital can be a bit stressful and sad at times. One way to let the day go and escape from reality is to veg out and watch a good show. Some of my favorites lately have been OITNB, Bloodline, Mistresses, Friends, and True Detective.

3. Working out- I know it sounds a bit opposite to work out when you need to relax but sometimes after a stressful day, all I want to do is hop on a treadmill and run it all out. Going for a long walk or pumping out a good weight routine also can help too!

4. Vino- While I don't normally drink during the week, sometimes grabbing a drink or happy hour with a friend can make the worst day a bit more bearable. After work drinks are a great way to catch up with friends and decompress before you've gotten home.

5. Take a bath- This is one I wish I was better about because when I do do them, they are so relaxing. I love lighting a candle, turning on some music and just zoning out while soaking in a warm soapy bath.

6. Instagram- By far my favorite form of social media and often what I do when I am bored or just need a break from reality. I am totally guilty of spending too much time on instagram right when I get into bed and normally peruse until I can't keep my eyes open anymore.

How do you unwind and relax?

Emily Ann

June Favorites

June Favorites

It's hard to believe we are already a few days into July! This summer is flying by and before you know it, August will be here and it will be time to gear up for my favorite season(s)- Fall and football! Until then, I wanted to share some of my favorites from June...

//One//
I have posted about these palm shorts several times but it truly because they have become a staple in my weekend attire. They are currently on sale and less then $20!

//Two//
This lotion has quickly become a favorite of mine this summer for a variety of different reasons. It has a fun summery scent and leaves my skin feeling extra moisturized without feeling sticky or cakey.

//Three//
I know what your thinking but I promise if your like me and have a hard time with breakouts in the summer due to sunscreen, sweating, and more sun exposure, you need to try this as your cleanser. My dermatologist recommended it when I came to her with a few problem areas on my face and this was the first thing she advised me to try. Ever since it has been my go to cleanser come summer- try it before you knock it.

//Four//
My current nail polish favorite that is on my toes. It's a fierce red but I love the way it looks with my tan.

//Five//
I just finished reading this book last week and absolutely loved it. It was a lot like Gone Girl which was ok in my book because I loved that read as well. If you are looking for an easy beach read, this one was awesome.

//Six//
As of lately I have become pretty lazy when it comes to doing my hair aka I never do. My hair routine the past few weeks has consisted of shaking my head up and down a few times, a few spritzes of this spray and waiting for it to air dry. This spray also smells amazing and is a lot cheaper then the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray (another favorite of mine.)

What are some of your favorite products as of lately?

Emily Ann

Easy Summer Makeup Routine

Easy Summer Makeup Routine

When it comes to summertime, I am all about having an easy routine and using the least amount of products. For scorching temps to days at at the beach, the last thing I want to worrying about is my makeup melting and looking a mess. This week the temps in NC have hit an all time high and my thermostat has read 100 degrees every day. With that being said, I have officially switched to my summer routine in an attempt to make things easier and worry free. The above products are what I use on a normal day going to work and it takes me less then 5 minutes to apply. Note- the white liner I apply just at the very upper corners of my eye to bright then up a bit, perfect for days when I need a little extra something. Typically if I am heading out for night out with friends or to an event I will spruce things up a bit with a bit of liner, shadow, and lip color. On weekends all bets are off and you can normally find me with just a touch of mascara and under-eye concealer.

What does your summertime routine look like?

Yours truly,
Emily Ann
