Shower Essentials

Shower Essentials

Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo- I've been using this shampoo for about a week now and I officially love it. It doesn't leave my hair feeling dry and stripped of all it's natural oils but also doesn't leave any residue.

Dove Daily Moisture Conditioner- This conditioner smells so good and leaves my hair feeling incredibly soft. I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to condition because I want something that wont leave my hair feeling heavy but that will also leave the ends feeling healthy and smooth. This one is great and doesn't break the budget by any means.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle- This is definitely not my first time mentioning this miracle worker but I continue to buy it because it's amazing. I use it about one to two times a week and love the way it leaves my hair feeling.

Aveeno Daily Body Wash- I have pretty sensitive skin and love the way this leaves my skin feeling. I use just a drop each time and love how much it suds and bubbles up.

Neutrogena Natural Face Wash- I'm pretty basic when it comes to my face wash and normally don't stick to the same type or brand. I am currently trying this one out and so far so good but nothing too special.

Clarisonic Mia- Also not my first time mentioning the Clarisonic but a true favorite of mine. Like I mentioned, I have very sensitive skin and was super nervous to use the Clarisonic, fearing it would be too harsh on my skin. Boy was I wrong, it turned out to be just what I my skin needed! There is a variety of different brush options but I am currently using the one for larger pores and have seen a difference in my face and appearance of my pores.

What are some of your favorite shower products?

Life + Changes

The past few weeks and weekends have felt like an absolute whirlwind and while it will continue into next week I thought I would share a bit of what's been going on!

I have officially moved out of my apartment in Richmond and moved most of my stuff into a storage unit in Raleigh. For the next few months I will be subleasing a place in Durham while I get my feet on the ground and started at the new job. I am fortunate enough to have 2 of my closest friends also moving to Raleigh that I will be moving in with in just a few short months! Most of last week was spent packing up my apartment and deciding which to go in storage and which to take with me. My packing essentials included Oktoberfest and Steve Winwood pandora.

Mid last week I took a break from packing and had a fun night at Allie's house for bunco! I had never played before but am so happy I went and loved every minute. Allie had everything set up perfect and had quite the food spread and even made a yummy raspberry champagne punch. It was such a fun night filled and made even better by the chance to finally break out a bit of fall apparel.

Boots: Banana Republic, Jeans: Express, Top: TJ Maxx, Scarf: Francescas, Bag: South Moon Under
(Pardon the mess and boxes in the background)

Allie's adorable sunroom and probably my favorite room in her house! She has done an amazing job decorating her whole house but the sunroom is filled with girly fun details.

Possibly a combination of lack of sleep and stress, I also decided to get a cold last week that left me snuggled on the couch with my favorite pumpkin tea. Harney & Sons Tea is one of my favorites and every season I look forward to breaking out the pumpkin tea with a bit of honey and dash of cinnamon.

I also didn't want to leave Richmond without one more run to my favorite running spot- Bryd Park. This has been my running destination since I first moved to Richmond over two and a half years ago. Although it was cloudy and a bit misty it made for a good run and always a good view.

Now that moving day has come and gone and I have a week before starting the new job, I am spending some time at home with my family. It's been over a month since I've been home and I can't wait to see and catch up with friends, not to mention enjoy the pleasures of being home in Annapolis.

Other items on the agenda for this week include one last trip to Richmond for my "official" last day of work, followed by a fun happy hour with friends and my hem/onc team. It will be a sad week with lots of goodbyes but also the start of a new adventure in a new city!

First Day Of Fall + Fall Bucketlist

Anyone else thrilled that the first day of Fall is officially here? This morning I was actually a bit chilly and wished I had given in and worn boots and a jacket. Like most everyone I am a lover of everything fall and I am so excited that the season has finally arrived. What better way to celebrate the first day of fall then by making a list of things I would like to do this season...

1. Go to a pumpkin patch and either carve or paint a pumpkin
(Last year a group of girlfriends and I got together for a pumpkin craft and wine night and could have have had a better time. I am thinking it is definitely a repeat for this year.

2. Bake an apple pie- this is the recipe I used last year and it was so yummy and easy.

3. Go to a state fair. Being that I am moving this weekend, the NC state fair starts October 16th and I can't wait to check it out!

4. Try a new tailgating recipe. I am horrible about bringing food to tailgates and am normally the one that provides the mimosa ingredients, an important job nonetheless. With a handful of games left in the season I have decided to try at least one new recipe to bring for game day.

5. Go to winery with friends. Going to a winery with a group of friends is by one of my favorite ways to spend a Saturday or Sunday. There's not a ton of wineries in the Raleigh/Durham area but I'm sure a little getaway wouldn't hurt either.

While I am sure the list could go on and go I would like to keep things pretty basic as I know the next few months with moving and beginning a new job will be busy.

What are some things on your Fall to do list?

Emily Ann

Weekend Recap

This past weekend seems like an absolute whirlwind and was filled with lots of travel and lots of time with friends.

I was lucky enough to have Friday off work and actually scooted out of town Thursday to check out a sublease for the big move at the end of the week! After checking out the sublease I grabbed drinks and dinner with a few friends in Raleigh before calling it a night. Friday I was up early for an appointment at the new job and then off to Greenville for the remainder of the weekend for some Pirate football. I was so glad I got in to town early and was able to meet up with some friends early and headed to Freeboot Friday, outdoor festival that happens every Friday before a home game. Normally I don't get in town in time to check it out but had so much fun there catching up with friends and enjoying the live music.

After Freeboot we headed to grab some dinner before it was back to a friends house to take it easy and spend more time catching up over a few glasses of wine.

Saturday was game day and with the help of advil and mimosas we were out the door and tailgating in no time.

We had so much fun and I couldn't be more excited that the Pirates pulled a victory of UNC! The weather was beautiful and so many different pictures have floated around but this one is definitely my favorite

I have never seen the sky light up like it was that night and made for a beautiful ending to a perfect game.

Sunday was a serious day of struggle but made bearable hanging out and being lazy with girlfriends. I am so looking forward to being closer to all of my friends in NC and can't believe moving day is almost here! This week is going to be a crazy one full of packing and getting together with friends before moving on Saturday.

Cheers to a great weekend and a crazy week ahead!

Emily Ann

Obsessions

Obsessions

Judging by today's obsessions it's not hard to see I am officially in the mood for fall. Virginia has definitely been having some crisper mornings that have left me craving comfy sweaters, boots, and all things fall. I normally get a new pair of boots every season and these Sam Edelman boots are what I have my eye on this season. As a lover of all things stripped, I am swooning over this Zara sweater, perfect to throw on with boyfriend jeans and booties or dressed down with leggings. It would also go great with the waffle scarf from Necessary Clothing, also a steal for less then $20. While I am not usually a fan of orange, I loved this suede fold over clutch, bonus that you for a clutch you could still fit so much inside. I've also been on the hunt for the perfect dainty layering necklace and think I finally found a winner also currently on sale. Last but not least, as the cooler temps approach I am trying to get ahead of the game and pamper my skin with lots of moisture. Fresh is one of my favorite brands and I can't wait to try out this mask

What are some of the things on your wish list for fall?

Richmond Spotlight- Pie Five Pizza

Anyone else feel that they could eat pizza everyday and be perfectly content? This girl definitely could and since age pizza has always been one of my favorite foods. Cheese pizza, white pizza, or veggie pizza... I could eat it all. Enter one of my new obsessions- Pie Five

Pie Five has a similar set up to Chipotle where you order as you come in and your food is prepared directly in front of you. They have multiple pizzas to choose including gluten free crust and options to build your own. Every step of the way you are able to pick your pizza from the crust, base sauce, and complimenting toppings. The best part about Pie Five is that within minutes you have your own personal pizza that is not only delicious but also supper affordable.

I decided to try Pie Five out for a movie night with friends and couldn't believe I was able to get 3 personal customized pizzas for less then $25! To check out if there is a Pie Five hear you check their location list

I would definitely recommend Pie Five to anyone for any occasion whether catching up with friends or picking up dinner after a long week. Pizza in less then 5 minutes and made with anything you want on it... sold.

Emily Ann

Weekend Report

This past weekend was another one for the books. I am loving that my weekends have been filled with good times with friends and lots of football. Over the weekend I headed up to the mountains of Virginia for the ECU/ Tech football game. While I can't say we had the greatest weather, we did end up with a not so expected win. Come Sunday I was exhausted and spent a majority of the day recovering on the couch and relaxing. Here's a few pictures from our fun weekend...

Being that I was so unproductive Sunday I knew I was in for some serious work on Monday. Once I was off work it was off to the grocery store and home to make dinner and lunches for the week. I made a yummy dinner of salmon and veggies, prepped salads for the week, did a load of laundry, and even whipped up a batch of banana muffins. This week is a bit crazy filled with work, getting together with friends, and babysitting before its off to North Carolina on Thursday for the weekend. I can't wait to be surrounded by more friends this weekend cheering on the Pirates against UNC.
Here's to another crazy week!

Emily Ann

Weekend

Well y'all the weekend is here but this girl is not quite feeling "weekend ready." I was hit with a nasty cold on Wednesday and even with not going into work yesterday, I'm still feeling a bit slow and sluggish. I wish I could say I was going to be spending my weekend relaxing and laying low but the show must go on and I am off to Blacksburg, VA to cheer on the Pirates! Looks like I'll be taking my vitamin C in the form of a mimosa come Saturday but I'm sure a little sun and football is just what the doctor ordered. Here's a few finds from the week...

- With so many beauty products out there all claiming to be the best, its hard to know where to spend your money. Enter, this great article on which products deserve the splurge.

- This salad looks too good not to make.

- A great list of where to get affordable chic pieces for your home.

- This J.Crew Swing sweater look alike has been added to my cart and I can't wait to try it out- on sale now!

- Positive Vibes

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Emily Ann

Obsessions

Obsessions

This weeks obsessions are all about transition into fall. This comfy grey sweater looks beyond perfect to throw on with these boyfriend jeans or even dressed up with leather leggings. Being that I'm on the hunt for a new pair of neutral flats, I loved this pair from J. Crew, shown to my courtesy of Ashley. I am loving the new Marc Jacobs Too Hot Crossbody bag and what could be better to add to any outfit then these beautiful emerald studs. Top it all off with a fiery new red lipstick... perfection.

Emily Ann
